Ewa Szumowska and Małgorzata Kossowska in Personality and Individual Differences

Ewa Szumowska and Małgorzata Kossowska published a paper titled Need for cognitive closure and attention allocation during multitasking: Evidence from eye-tracking studies in Personality and Individual Differences. In a series of two eye-tracking studies they found that high NFC participants in order to maintain performance on the additional task, needed to switch to and fixate on this task more often than low NFC individuals. This was in line with their predictions regarding serial, rather than parallel, processing of high NFC individuals.
