This paper contributes to the discussion on the dual-process theories – an influential topic in both cognitive and social psychology. The paper comments on a newly proposed dual-processes model by Wim De Neys. It identifies some problems with the proposed mechanism of switching between System 1 and System 2 and suggests some improvements.
